What's up, guys? My name's Billy and I live out near Marietta. I just purchased my first Z car 2-3 weeks ago; an '81 280ZX 2+2. It currently has just over 110,000 miles on it and quite a few spots of surface rust, but the interior is not bad (except for he dash) and the floorpan is clean and fairly rust-free. The L28 under the hood is still strong and so is the clutch (I don't expect it to stay that way; this is the first time I've driven stick). I plan to make it into a track and DD-able car and want to start with the body work and suspension within the next few months. I'll be replacing just about everything as ar as suspension goes; tie rod ends, ball joints, new shocks and springs, sway bars. Other upgrades I'd like to do, but that are a long way off are a turbo and intercooler kit and, at some point, I want to bore it out.
So if any of you guys no a mechanic that can do the suspension work
I want lemme know, because I sure don't know how or have the tools required. I'm gonna try to make it to the March 4th meet and I'm definitely going to the Mitty.

Billy, suggest you contact Eddie Radatz of E. Radatz Motorsports located at 961 Shallowford Road Kennesaw and his ph # is 770.926.6690. Eddie specializes in 1970 - 1983 Z cars and is a member of the Ga Z Car Club. He has done a good deal of work on my 81.

I'll definitely check him out. I'm gonna be headed out to Sugar Hill this weekend to talk to a friend's neighbor about the car he's Bern building and racing Zs for years so I figured I'd talk to him before I start anything expensive.

I'll second the recommendation for Eddie. He's not cheap, but he is thorough. He's a real nice guy, too.
I just got my 260Z back from him yesterday. It PURRZ like a kitten. He replaced the u-joints, took care of an exhaust leak, and replaced several broken exhaust studs.
