Valentines Day Rally Posponed

Snow!

Z Clubbers,

Weather has once again struck one of our drives. I went out a rovd part of the

drive I had planned and there were many areas with ice and snow on the roads.

Other areas had a lot of water and gravel. I have decided to postpone our drive

until warmer weather. Check back for more info on the rescheduled drive.

Snow!

We tried to have the January meeting but I think the chance of snow and ice kept a lot of people at home. We did have 8 brave souls show up at TJ’s. With so few we really didn’t have a meeting. So we still need to have election of Officers at the February meeting. As many people as can need to be there.

I still plan to have a Valentines day drive/rally this year on Feb 14th. It will not be an overnight and given the weather this year it will not go North into the mountains but that leaves plenty of other places to go.
Meet at the McDonalds in Canton (exit 20 on I-575) at 9:30am and first car leaves at 10:00.

I have talked to Gwinnett Place Nissan and we plan on having a show and shine or car show there this spring. Details to follow.

There are a lot of things coming up this year and I need for some members to take over a few events. Doug has done a good job with the Wine and BBQ tour and I hope someone will step up and organize some other events. It has been suggested that having events that wifes and boyfriends and girlfriend can enjoy is the secret to a good turnout. If you have a suggestion please speak up and let’s give it a try.

We are going to try and keep the website updated with event and happening upcoming so check it out for the latest.

Happy New Year!

We need to have elections of officers this month at the meeting. I know it is the same night as the BCS championship, but the game is on later and TJ’s is a sports bar! Some might want to hang around and watch if there.

A BIG THANKS to Alan and Debby Poindexter for letting us have the Christmas party at their house.

New Site Features

You may have noticed that many Social Networking features have been integrated into the site. Being an avid Facebook user, I realized that social networking keeps people engaged on a website and content remains fresh. I see too many auto websites that fail because the webmaster simply does not have the time to post new content on a daily basis. My vision for this site is for the members to contribute all content whether it be events, pictures, articles, classifieds, or any other content type.

What can I currently do on the site?

Site Members can currently do the following:

Groups: Create and manage social groups for car clubs, etc. Groups can maintain their own announcements and bulleting for their members.
Pictures: Create photo albums and easily upload pictures.
Events: Create events to share with the community.
Classifieds: Create classified ads.
Forums: Participate in forum discussions.
zCommunity: Be sure to check out all of the options in zCommunity. We are constantly adding new functionality to enhance the Social Networking aspect of this site.

Follow the Z Tour 2008

The "Follow the Z" tour stopped in at Z1 Motorsports on December 7, 2008. Nissan supplied 2 370 Z's, a DJ, and the food. The huge turnout included about 8 GTR's, countless Z's, and about 5 G35's. See the Z Gallery for event photos.

This year, as the 2009 Nissan 370Z is set to be unveiled next week at the LA Auto Show, marks nearly 40 years since the first Z car's simple origins as the 1969 Datsun 240Z. Since then we've seen the Z go all over the place, from tech-heavy with the 1991 300ZXTT and just plain heavy with the outgoing 350Z. But big was still beautiful, and each iteration of the itty-bitty Nissan, including the final one, has retained many of the simplistic design elements from the original '69. But now there's a new Z car. Will the design stack up with what's come before? Hit the jump to find out.

Nissan 370Z Nismo S-Tune Package Brochure leaked

Last Friday we saw the first photo with the new Nismo 370Z, but honestly we didn’t know if it was real or not…But today it was confirmed due to a leaked brochure and we can tell you for sure: that’s the new Nismo S-Tune Package for the 2009 Nissan 370Z!

The new Nismo S-Tune Aero Package comes with 2 new front bumpers, new side skirts, a rear trunk spoiler, a rear lip spoiler, with integrated air diffuser while the S-Tune Performance Package features a new exhaust system, new brakes, sport springs and a new set of 5-spoke alloy wheels. Unfortunately this are the only details available due to the fact that the brochure is written in Japanese, but as soon as we will find something we will let you know!
